David H. Krieger
President, Hobson NBT, Inc.
   
   
     David Krieger has been a Numismatist for approximately twelve years, with experience in both the wholesale and retail rare coin and bullion markets.  In 1997, David opened GoldCoinSuperSite.com which was among the early rare coin websites.  Later, he moved on to wholesale trading with a large rare coin wholesale company in Tampa, Florida, before joining a competitor in 2006.  From 2007 through 2008, David served as Director of a state-of-the-art precious metals depository, in Wilmington, Delaware, before starting Hobson NBT, Inc. in 2009.

     David is a retired Captain in the United States Navy, where he served for over 29 years.   David earned his bachelor's degree in economics and graduated from the Defense Intelligence School Post Graduate Course, Washington, DC, and the Naval War College, Senior Course, in Newport, Rhode Island.  Captain Krieger earned a Master of Science in Management and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.  Captain Krieger was competitively selected for and completed the Program for Senior Officials in National Security at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. 
 

     While on active duty, Captain Krieger served in several key assignments including as Executive Officer of a submarine and Captain of the heavy ammunition ship USS FLINT (AE 32).  Captain Krieger also served with distinction as Head, Soviet Undersea Warfare Analysis Branch for the Navy Operational Intelligence Office, at the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland; Director, Navy Promotion and Advancement System at the Bureau of Naval Personnel; Chief of Staff for Commander, Naval Surface Group Western Pacific; and as Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Station, Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines (Subic's last American Commanding Officer.)

     Captain Krieger's personal awards include two Legions of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals, the Navy Achievement Medal and the Republic of the Philippines Outstanding Achievement Medal.  While under Captain Krieger's command, USS FLINT won the highly competitive Battle Efficiency Award and U.S. Naval Station, Subic Bay, was named winner of the Pacific Fleet "Installation Excellence Award," the top competitive award sought annually by over 50 large Navy operating stations throughout the Pacific Ocean area.

     Captain Krieger has been married to Jane Krieger for over 32 years.  Jane, in addition to being a terrific wife and mother is the Pediatric Case Manager for a nationally-recognized children's hospital in Tampa, Florida.  The Kriegers have two great sons, Harstan (28), an Army Captain who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as an Airborne Field Artillery Officer and who has recently transitioned to the Army Financial Management Branch and Matthew (24), a Navy officer and mechanical engineer now serving in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program (Submarines).
